Of course we all know the renowned lingerie La Perla brand. Some of us might have heard about the recent scandals of not paid personnel and the trials involving the private equity firm that purchased the Maison.
But I am quite sure only a few among you know the following thing: the original La Perla owner, cav. Alberto Masotti, has decided to leave his legacy to his beloved city Bologna and turned the original headquarters in a fantastic Fondazione, about fashion of course. We will be granted access to the F.FRI, Fondazione Fashion Research Italy, for an exclusive tour of its archives, library and imposing buildings. Just to mention one place we will be having the chance to see: the caveau. This is where only professionals are allowed and an enormous amount of precious materials for inspiration is stored in a collection unique in its kind: 30,000 textile designs handmade on paper and fabric by the best international textile designers between the 19th and 21st centuries. And the whole complex is really worth a visit in itself so don’t miss this chance! (I don’t think I will be able to re-arrange any time soon…)
